Spiritual Mentoring IG

Vaughan Park is an oasis for stranger or friend seeking to discover life in all its fullness.  We suggest that Spiritual Mentoring is an important spiritual discipline in the life of every person who seeks questions to life and faith.

What is Spiritual Mentoring?
Spiritual Mentoring offers intentional listening and help in hearing God’s voice, reflecting on the journey of life and faith and discovering the movements of encounter and grace in our lives.

What does ‘Mentoring’ mean?
Spiritual Mentoring is not about being ‘told’!  Rather it is very much about being encouraged to draw closer to God.  You are helped to be directed back to God to discern what it is you are seeking.

Who might Spiritual Mentoring be for?
It can be for anyone!  Spiritual Mentoring invites you into this relationship regardless of your religious or spiritual affiliation.  Spiritual Mentors are open and welcoming to all on a spiritual search.

When might Spiritual Mentoring be helpful?

  • the search for God seems to be at a crossroads
  • one wishes to explore new methods of prayer
  • there is a desire to become open to a new or renewed relationship with God
  • one feels the need for help in discerning the call of the Spirit in life choices
  • one feels the need for a companion on the spiritual journey.

What does Spiritual Mentoring practically look like?
Spiritual Mentoring takes place in the context of confidential, one-on-one or group sessions.  Frequency of visits with a Spiritual Mentor may vary with each person and with the events in one’s life at a particular time.  Visits may be two monthly, monthly or more frequently.
