Society of St Francis Brothers to be “Community in Residence” at Vaughan Park,
25 September – 4 October 2012
A team of five brothers from the Society of St Francis, drawn from friaries in New Zealand, Australia and Korea, will be “Community in Residence” at Vaughan Park Anglican Retreat Centre 25 September – 4 October 2012. During this period the brothers will be living as a community at St Clare’s House at the retreat centre. We will take part in daily programmes at the Centre, be available for any visitors who want to drop in, and have some engagements outside as well.
The programme includes:
· Participation in the daily office and eucharist at Vaughan Park.
· Daily Bible reflection, open to any who want to join in.
· Some brothers will remain “at home” most days for any who wish to drop in for a coffee and chat.
· A Franciscan vocational reflection and promotion programme held at Vaughan Park (details to be confirmed).
· Visiting Auckland churches on Sunday September 30 – and available to preach / preside.
· A midday eucharist and shared lunch with SSF Third Order members (and anyone else interested).
· Visits to SSF friends at Selwyn Village, etc.
· After departure from Vaughan Park on October 4th we are planning a celebration of the feast day of St Francis – perhaps eucharist and shared lunch. Venue and details to be confirmed.
The members of the team are Brothers Brian, Bruce-Paul, Simone, Cyril and Christopher John.
For further details please contact either the above address, or the Hamilton friary.
Wishing you all peace and good
